First settled in 1880, Hoodsport lies at the base of the Olympic Mountains on the shore of Hood Canal, the westernmost arm of Puget Sound. Clams, oysters and shrimp are harvested from area waters. SR 119 leads west to Lake Cushman, a popular recreation area in the southeast corner of Olympic National Park.
