DescriptionA popular resort since the early 1800s, Hot Springs is situated at the junction of the Appalachian Trail and the French Broad River and is named for the reputedly therapeutic hot mineral springs that draw visitors to this day. The surrounding area, part of Pisgah National Forest, offers opportunities for white-water rafting, canoeing, fishing, mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding and camping. Scenic SR 209 runs through the heart of town, and nearby US 25/70 offers a picturesque drive through the river valley.
