Description
Founded in 1528, Jocotepec (hoh-koh-teh-PEHK) sits at the western end of Lake Chapala. This popular retreat is known for hand-woven items, which are still produced on old-fashioned looms. Local artisans turn out bedspreads, table coverings, wall hangings and sarapes. There are several small shops along Calle Hidalgo, and it's possible to watch the weavers at work.
