In 1910, Col. Marion Savage capitalized on the success he had created with racehorse Dan Patch and had the Dan Patch Railroad Line built to service Antler's Amusement Park. A century later, Antlers Park, 9740 201st St. W. on the eastern shore of Lake Marion, is still a popular local spot to picnic and enjoy outdoor activities.
Ritter Farm Park, off I-35 to 19300 Ritter Parkway Tr., has 340 nature-oriented acres offering trails for hiking, horseback riding, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. The bald eagle is one of 130 species of birds that have been identified within the park.
