Situated at the southern tip of Labrador, L'Anse-Amour is the site of an ancient burial mound containing artifacts detailing the lives of the Maritime Archaic people some 7,000 years ago. Visitors to the area can view this historic site in addition to exploring the rocky coastline.
Taken from the old French name of L'Anse aux Morts, “Cove of Deaths,” L'Anse-Amour has been the site of many shipwrecks, including two Royal Navy vessels.
