DescriptionOriginally named after the Wyota Indians, Lebanon was later renamed after Lebanon, Tenn. In the late 1800s residents discovered that the city's water contained magnetic properties. People flocked to the Gasconade Hotel to bathe in water that was said to contain healing qualities.

Jigsaw puzzles galore can be found at Nancy Ballhagen's Puzzles, about 5 miles east of Lebanon off I-44 exit 135 at 25211 Garden Crest Rd. More than 3,100 different puzzles, ranging from 100 to 24,000 pieces, are in stock, and more than 200 out-of-print puzzles are displayed on the ceiling. Visitors also can see a 7,500-piece puzzle that is 8.5 feet long and 3.5 feet high as well as hand-cut wooden puzzles; phone (417) 286-3837.
