DescriptionDue to its proximity to Lewisville Lake, Lewisville is very popular with those in the Dallas/Fort Worth area; Dallas is 25 miles south and Fort Worth is 58 miles southwest. Outdoor sports lovers flock to the lake, which has several marinas, campgrounds, beaches, trails, boat and jet ski rentals, and plenty of fishing; the lake is full of bass, crappie and catfish. Spend the weekend with fellow partiers at Party Cove, near West Lake Park (Main St. and Westlake Park Rd.), where many tie up their boats for the weekend, crank up the music and enjoy the lake.
Lewisville also has dozens of parks. Recreation fans can enjoy hiking and biking trails, picnic pavilions, playgrounds, disc golf, basketball courts, golf courses and sand volleyball. Sun Valley Park (801 S. Valley Pkwy.) offers an aquatic center with a lazy river, several pools and water slides as well as lighted tennis courts.
Toyota of Lewisville Railroad Park (1301 S. Railroad St.) features a 1.5-mile track for walking and jogging, a 6-acre dog park and a large skate park. The skate park offers deep bowl skating, plaza skating and covered seating. The park also has football, baseball and soccer fields.
