DescriptionPymatuning Reservoir arcs through Crawford County for 16 miles, its south end near Jamestown on US 322 and its northern apex near Linesville on US 6. Its western shore curves into Ohio. Pymatuning State Park surrounds the Pennsylvania shoreline. At the spillway in the park visitors can buy bread to feed the fish; the site is known as the place where the fish are reputedly so numerous that ducks walk on the fishes' backs. The lake is home to bass, bluegill, crappie, muskellunge, perch and walleye. Recreational activities include hunting and fishing.
The upper part of the reservoir is a state waterfowl sanctuary. A number of islands mark this part of the reservoir. Cabins, campgrounds and boat rentals are available at Pymatuning State Park; phone (724) 932-3142 for information.
Pymatuning Holeshot Raceway, 15729 Maple Rd., offers dirt bike, ATV and quad racing competitions April through October; phone (814) 683-5655.
