DescriptionSituated on SRs 100/103 along the Black River, Ludlow offers views of mountain ranges, lakes and fertile farmland. Vermonters in this area pioneered the manufacture of reworked wool to combat cloth shortages after the Civil War.
Ludlow is home to the 600-acre campus of the Fletcher Farm School for the Arts and Crafts, 611 SR 103S, where artisans and craftspeople have been teaching the general public traditional techniques and exploring new media and methods since 1947. Classes last from 2 days to 1 week. In the summer a shop features items made by members of the Society of Vermont Artists and Craftsmen; phone (802) 228-8770 for class information and shop schedule.
