DescriptionOld Metamora, next to the Whitewater Canal State Historic Site, is a capsule version of a 19th-century canal town, complete with what is said to be the nation's only operating wooden aqueduct. The many restored period buildings contain an array of interesting restaurants as well as crafts, art and specialty shops. Flags posted on buildings in Old Metamora indicate when an establishment is open for business. Establishment hours vary, but the complex is generally open May through December; phone (765) 647-6555.
