Tucked away in Utah's southeastern corner, amiable little Mexican Hat is named for a 2,500-ton boulder that resembles a sombrero. Some 60 feet wide and 12 feet thick, it perches atop a 200-foot cliff rising from the surrounding flat, red rock desert terrain. Take US 163 north to the junction with unpaved CR 2161, then head east for a view of this geological oddity.
