DescriptionFounded in 1862, Middle Amana was the final village to be established in the colonies. Unlike its predecessors, this village was laid out in a square block style reminiscent of American towns.
The last of the Ebenezer settlers arrived in 1864, completing the community's move from New York. A century later, the seven villages of Amana were designated a National Historic Landmark.
