DescriptionA regional trade center, Missouri Valley borders Willow Creek just below a rim of high bluffs. The steamboat Bertrand, carrying a $300,000 cargo bound for gold miners and settlers in the Montana Territory, sank here on its maiden voyage in 1865. Archeological artifacts recovered from the ship's hold are displayed at the DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge.
