One of the largest towns on Prince Edward Island, Montague was named in the 1760s for George Brudenell, the Earl of Cardigan and Duke of Montague. Montague serves as a port and commercial center. Nearby on Hwy. 4 is Buffaloland Provincial Park, where herds of North American bison and white deer can be seen.
