In southwestern Washington, Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument contains the volcano and the surrounding area devastated by the 1980 eruption. Access to the 110,000-acre monument is limited; local roads only skirt the region, ending in overlooks providing scenic views. Southeast of the crater FR 25 branches off from FR 90 and continues north, becoming SR 131, then meets US 12 at Randle. Northeast of the volcano FR 99 branches west off FR 25, ending at the Windy Ridge viewpoint, with a view of Mount St. Helens crater and Spirit Lake. Learn More...
