DescriptionNew London, on the Wolf River near its junction with the Embarrass River, witnessed the booming days when great log drives traveled down both streams. Agribusiness and timber-related industries employ much of the area's population. The area offers numerous recreational opportunities, including cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, white-water rafting and fishing.
The Heritage Historical Village, just east of Mill Street at 900 Montgomery St., consists of six historical buildings—a log cabin, an octagon-shaped house, a chapel, a school, a garage and a railroad depot—all moved to the site. The village is open several Sundays a month June through August and by appointment; phone (920) 982-5186 or (920) 982-8557.
