DescriptionA mild climate is one of the main reasons Pinehurst is a year-round resort community. The parks and green spaces were planned by Frederick Law Olmsted, designer of New York's Central Park and Asheville's Biltmore gardens. Among the attractive in-town residences are a number of Georgian Colonial-style estates.
Pinehurst's main drawing card is golf; there are more than 40 championship courses, including many that host PGA and LPGA tournaments. Tennis tournaments take place as well. Carriage rides are a popular tourist conveyance.
