Founded at the headwaters of the Manokin River, Princess Anne is part of Somerset County, which was created by Lord Baltimore's proclamation in 1666. Several Colonial and Federal homes still stand along Mansion Street and US 13S. Of particular interest are Teackle Mansion, which is open for tours some afternoons, and the Washington Inn.
