DescriptionOne of the South's leading textile-manufacturing cities, Spartanburg also is one of the world's largest peach shipping centers. Peach orchards and packing sheds can be visited June through August. The city was named for the Spartan Regiment, which represented it during the Revolutionary War. A statue honoring Gen.
