DescriptionThe resort community of Sun Peaks nestles amid firs and aspen at the base of Tod Mountain and Mount Morrisey in central British Columbia. The core of the village, 31 kilometres (19 mi.) east of Hwy. 5 at Heffley Creek, consists of three- to five-story alpine motif buildings clustered along pedestrian walkways.
With nearly 1,497 hectares (3,700 acres) of terrain, Sun Peaks is reportedly the third largest ski area in Canada, offering both alpine and Nordic skiing as well as a tube park, ice skating, sleigh rides, snowmobiling and dog sledding. Summer activities include golf, tennis, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, canoeing, fishing and trail rides.
