DescriptionWith access to both the Thief and Red Lake rivers, it isn't hard to understand why Thief River Falls started out as a lumber milling town. The rich soil left behind by ancient Lake Agassiz also contributed to the growth of agriculture.
The Thief River Falls River Walk winds for miles through town, passing nine city parks, three forest trails and such historic sites as the Old Soo Line Depot on East Third Street. Trail maps are available from the chamber of commerce.
