Tiverton is on the northern tip of Long Island, which is just off Digby Neck, a narrow peninsula jutting beyond Digby into the Bay of Fundy. Tiverton’s main industry is fishing; lobsters are caught during the winter season. A variety of seabirds and whales can be seen during boat charters and whale cruises, which are available in summer.
Balancing Rock, located on the eastern shore, is a natural landmark situated along a scenic trail. The Island Museum and Visitor Information Centre houses historical memorabilia and exhibits depicting the area's heritage; phone (902) 839-2853 or (800) 565-0000.
