DescriptionThe Wapiti Valley was popularized by William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody. He brought guests to the area to enjoy the beauty of the valley and Yellowstone National Park. Wapiti Valley provides a scenic byway into or out of Yellowstone National Park. Among wildlife inhabiting the valley are elk, deer, buffalo, moose, bighorn sheep, bears, coyotes, bald and golden eagles, and even mountain lions.
Characterized by historic resorts, the valley also offers abundant recreational activities, including hiking, horseback riding, fishing, windsurfing, snowmobiling and skiing.
