DescriptionWawa, meaning “wild goose” in Ojibway, was so named because of the geese that rested on Wawa Lake during migration. A giant statue of a Canada goose poised for flight guards the entrance to the town. Recreational activities available include boating, canoeing and kayaking, bird-watching, fishing, hiking, hunting and snowmobiling. In addition to Scenic High Falls, Silver Falls and Wawa Falls are nearby.
