AAA Editor Notes
Bessemer Hall of History Museum, 1905 Alabama Ave., is in the restored 1916 Southern Railroad Depot. Native American artifacts, pioneer items, Civil War memorabilia and a collection of old telephones and business machines—including a typewriter from Adolf Hitler's hideaway, The Eagle's Nest—are among the items displayed. Changing exhibits include pieces pertinent to the industrial history of Jefferson County. Also on display is the one-millionth Pullman Standard boxcar built in Bessemer.
