Pros: Love this Hotel and its charm. Staff were very friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble. The beds were so comfortable and the suite was spacious. The breakfast had so many choices and had something for everyone's taste. We loved the little nooks and seating areas that had unlimited tea & coffee, and the water urns with fresh fruit added was a fantastic touch with the weather so hot outside. We had an amazing time here and would stay here any time we will visit Birmingham in the future. The old Library adjacent to the hotel is definitely worth a visit or the art exhibition at the new library. The park across the road is pretty during the day the odd homeless stragglers is there at night but they dont bother you.Lots of history and landmarks worth checking out within walking distance.
Cons: There was very little to do in this area, not even shops. You would really need a car as most places nearby close at 3pm.

Pros: The entrance was beautiful - and the staff especially at check in were really friendly. Room felt luxurious (: LOVED the bed - beautifully made and comfortable. Clean. Very pretty view from my room too.
Cons: Inside of coffee pot wasn't clean. Shower door wouldn't slide right and shower head & pressure only ok.

Pros: Nice location. Old historic property
Cons: Extremely loud when hotel room doors slammed shut throughout the night. It would literally rattle my room walls. Very uncomfortable for sleeping. I suppose it's because it is an old hotel and there isn't adequate soundproofing. I also inquired about the free shuttle to the airport. They asked me what time I needed to depart and I told them 6:30. They said great no problem. The next morning around 6:15 I get a call from the valet saying that he noticed I am scheduled for a 6:30 departure but the shuttle only leaves every hour? At this point I couldn't wait so I was forced to get a taxi. I plan on emailing the manager about it
