Alabama Mining Museum is 2.8 mi. s. of jct. CR 81 and US 78 at 120 East St. Through exhibits about mining technology and the lifestyle of the coal miner, the museum demonstrates how Alabama became one of the most important coal-mining regions in the country 1890-1940. A 1900s train, mining cars, a post office and a one-room schoolhouse are included. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
