Weeks Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, 14 mi. e. to 11300 US 98, is a 6,525-acre reserve focusing on the Weeks Bay estuary that provides a rich, diverse habitat for a variety of fish and crustaceans. Its broad, shallow waters are fed by tributaries branching off from the Fish and Magnolia Rivers.
A visitor center displays a collection of regional plants and live animals. Self-guiding nature trails and boardwalks wind through wetlands, marshes and forests.
