U.S. Army Aviation Museum is on SR 249, 10 mi. s. of US 231, at the Fort Rucker Army Post, at 6000 Novosel St. The museum contains an extensive collection of U.S. Army aircraft, with emphasis on the evolution of the helicopter. Many one-of-a-kind planes are displayed.
Exhibits include an R4-B (the first military production helicopter) and several World War I aircraft as well as aircraft currently involved in U.S. Army operations worldwide.
Note: Visitors ages 16 and older must have photo ID. Vehicle registration and proof of insurance must also be presented.
