State Black Archives, Research Center and Museum

State Black Archives, Research Center and Museum is at 4900 Meridian St. N., in the James Hembray Wilson Building on the campus of Alabama A&M University. Along with African American research materials, the center houses a museum with exhibits relating to African American history and culture. Permanent exhibits focus on Buffalo soldiers, African American women and an art collection featuring prominent artists such as Romare Bearden and Jacob Lawrence.
