AAA Editor Notes
Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 2 S. Claiborne St. between Conti and Dauphin sts., is one of the oldest churches in the city. Built 1835-50, it occupies the site used by Mobile's first settlers as a burial ground. Shamrocks and fleurs-de-lis emblems adorn the vaulted ceiling.
