Pros: Beautiful hotel that was very close to downtown and the airport.

Pros: Great position right by lake hood so can watch the floatplanes coming and going. Good restaurants right in the hotel. Comfortable spacious rooms.

Pros: Location. Transportation to airport.
Cons: Food BELOW AVERAGE (Halibut & French Fries; halibut was like fish sticks and overcooked, instead of being fresh with crispy beer batter as advertised). SERVICE WAS SLOW. More than 15 minutes without drinks and waiter.

Pros: Room is huge and very roomy, bed is fine and good linen.
Cons: Rooms are facing people's garage doors right outside your window. The hotel property located closely behind local residents that block the lake view. The other side of hotels face the hotel parking lot and the main road. The photo of hotel fool us all thinking that you get lake view. None of the rooms will get good view of the lake. Only their sole restaurant face the small lake. You will hear flight go up and down noises. No walking trails you can do on your own that can enjoy the nature walk. You can walk 0.5 to 1 mile to get food if you don't eat at hotel. People drives pretty fast so you need to be careful crossing the street. As you know, food are very expensive in Alaska for tourists, so you likely want other food choices after spending $15-$18 for a hamburger with french fries. Honestly, I will not recommend this hotel for $300/night charges. Their courtesy shuttle was late for 15 mins one time due to change of shift. No apology from the driver. Their front desk staff didn't seem to be that eager to welcome you for the stay.

Cons: There was a window open when we got there and later realized we couldn't close it because it was broken. I paid for a room with a view, the only view I had was of the houses that actually had a view. So the front desk person told me there would be a shuttle every 10 minutes but as I found out it was every 30 and ended up getting a cab in order to not miss my flight. The 2 restaurants in the hotel work from the same kitchen but you had to order off one menu or the other so we chose the flying machine, terrible mistake the calamari was awful had one bite and ate no more. Told the server I was allergic to mushrooms, my steak came with mushrooms all over it. Asked for blueberry cheesecake to go and they threw it in a box and was strawberry. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
