Pioneer Park is at 2300 Airport Way. The pioneer theme park offers four museums; the Kitty Hensley and Wickersham houses, two restored early 20th-century dwellings; the renovated S.S. Nenana, one of the largest wooden stern-wheelers ever constructed; Roela's Carousel; and a train that travels and offers unique views of the park. The Mining Valley showcases early mining equipment. The Tanana Valley Railroad Museum operates train rides, houses exhibits including Fairbanks’ first steam locomotive and has an area where visitors can see historic locomotives being repaired (Open daily noon-8, Memorial Day-Labor Day). At Pioneer Hall, The Big Stampede Theater highlights paintings by Rusty Heurlin. The Palace Theatre presents Golden Heart Revue, a musical comedy show. Rental bicycles, canoes and kayaks are available. Such activities as miniature golf are provided; bocce courts as well as horseshoe and volleyball areas also are on the premises. Bring a blanket or lawn chair for seating at the free summer concert series held nightly at 7 p.m.

Guided tours are available. Recreational activities are permitted. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available.
