AAA Inspector Notes
Inspector Pick (Recreation/Exercise): So close to Anchorage, yet this all-seasons recreation wonderland is worlds apart. Biking, hiking, fishing and skiing are activities I enjoy here.
Enjoy a truly stunning mountain setting as this hotel sits at the base of a large mountain surrounded by seven glaciers. This is an ideal spot for winter skiing or summer mountain-biking and hiking. Guest rooms and bathrooms reflect the alpine setting of the hotel and feature an impressive mattress with upscale bedding, towel warmer, robes and slippers. A friendly staff is on hand to offer assistance in all of your activities. Take the tram up the mountain to visit the museum or dine in their restaurant, Seven Glaciers, for the view. Be sure to ask about their spectacular year-round package specials. Smoke free premises. 302 units. 8 stories, interior corridors. Accessibility (Call).

Pros: The staff was wonderful, the extras are great: free use of bicycles for riding their wilderness trails, complimentary valet parking, bellhops, concierge service. The stay was amazing, and even the few minor hiccups were cured fast and efficiently.
Cons: Only negative - no explained the maid service/do not disturb lights! As a result, we received room cleaning that we didn't want and had to call for the coffee and towels that we did want - after leaving word with the front desk about it.

Pros: Wonderful concierge department. Grounds are beautiful. Walking trails all around. Free parking and free internet.
Cons: Hotel food was expensive and not that great. Breakfast buffet pricey but mediocre. The hotel was very busy and the good restaurants were impossible to get into. Make your dinner reservations ahead of your trip. Pool too busy.
