House of Wickersham, 213 Seventh St., was the residence of Judge James Wickersham, noted Alaskan statesman, historian and pioneer judge. Built 1898-99 on “Chicken Ridge,” this large Victorian house offers panoramic views of Gastineau Channel. Wherever the judge traveled in Alaska he collected ivory pieces, basketry and carvings, which are on display.
