Musk Ox Farm, 2 mi. n. at Milepost 50 on Glenn Hwy. to 12850 E. Archie Rd., is said to be the only musk ox domestication project in the world. The shaggy creatures are valued for their fine underwool called “qiviut.” Eskimos knit the hair, eight times warmer by weight than wool, into hats and scarves. Hands-on exhibits are available. The 45-minute guided tours offer insight into the animal's history and behavior and allow observation from fenced walkways.
Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted.
