AAA Inspector Notes
Inspector Pick (Location (to sporting venues, shopping, nature, waterfront etc.)): I love to walk on the path in front of the bay, watch kayakers, scuba divers, dogs playing in the park, and then grab a cup of joe and do it again.
This hotel is across the street from a park and the ocean. The atrium lobby features local artwork and a player piano. There are quite a variety of guest room types and sizes to choose from. Some rooms and vanities are compact. There are some rooms with balconies offering views of Resurrection Bay and the Kenai Mountains; these rooms sell out fast. There are no windows in the interior atrium guest rooms above the mezzanine. Smoke free premises. 76 units. 3 stories, interior corridors. Accessibility (Call).

Great location, short walk to harbor, and right across the street front the Sea Life Center and the best restaurant in town, The Cookery. We had an inside room, with a window looking into the lobby. This actually worked out great, it helped minimize the light at night which was difficult to acclimate to initially. The staff was friendly and helpful, and they shuttle you from the train to the hotel, and again from the hotel to the harbor. This was great for us, as we boarded our cruise in Seward. We booked early and had a good rate $130/night, which was very good for our dates. I would recommend this hotel, it is simple, but very comfortable.
Pros: Location, comfortable bed, shuttle service.
Cons: Only improvement would bee getting into the room a little earlier. They were full the night prior to our arrival, so we didn't get in the room until about 4:30pm.

Cons: The ground floor room given to us (#111) opened into the lobby. Practically when the room door is opened, from my bed I could see all people sitting in the hotel lobby! The room size is smaller than average. The wash sink is outside the bathroom.

Waffle breakfast. Excellent wifi. Comfortable beds. Easy parking. Good location. Clean.
Pros: The location, both in town and overlooking the water.
Cons: Parking was unclear at first, including where to park while I brought my bags in. After check-in, I knew where to park. I could hear the plumbing being used in an adjoining room (upstairs?)

The room we were assigned was terrible. It would have been so loud that we would have been awakened every time someone spoke in the lobby. The door into the lobby had a full 2 inch gap under the door, and every sound came into the room. I've actually never seen anything like it. When we asked for a different room, they upped the price to more than was listed on their web site, so we saved no money at all. Great location, nice and clean, but we expect to be able to sleep when we rent a hotel room.
Pros: Location, price,
Cons: The room we got was unacceptable, and we refused it. It had no window, but 2 doors that opened onto the hall and the lobby. Right outside the door into the lobby was a couch, ~30 ft from the front desk. In the room, we could hear every sound; too loud.
