Charming best describes this lovely restored and beautifully decorated Victorian-style hotel. Room highlights include decorative bedding, table fan, makeup mirror and enhanced hair and skin products. All guest rooms feature a desk, table and seating for three; some have a fireplace. Also, some rooms are compact in size. The lobby and public areas feature distinctive wildlife and history displays. Pros: The location was great and staff ere willing to provide information on the area
Cons: No air conditioning and it was hot. Had to ask for fans. Had to ask for hair dryer. The sheets kept coming off the bed. Beware the first floor rooms!

Pros: Good location. On site eating.
Cons: Worst bed , room, and bathroom we stayed in in our one month tour of B.C., Yukon, and Alaska. "Old " part of building meant no view, small dingy room, and bathroom too small to accomodate 2 people at one time. Mattresses awful. Very poor lighting. Highest price of anywhere. Noisy, that is, thin walls

Pros: Close to the Sea Life aquarium and main street.
Cons: Room #12 should never be rented! It is down a narrow hallway behind the restaurant portion of the hotel and the 2 windows look out onto the dirty alleyways behind the hotel! Really bad! I was told we got that room because we booked with Booking.com. We were moved after I complained. SMALL rooms with a dirty small fan instead of air conditioning.

Pros: Lovely hotel, friendly staff. Very clean rooms and the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on!!!
Cons: The meal portions at Ms. Genes were small for the price. Very good food and the chef was very personable though.

Pros: Room was quiet.
Cons: Paid for a room with a private bath and they initially put us in a room without a private bath. When I asked to be moved, they were rude and made no effort to help with moving the luggage between rooms. Then, after wasting at least an hour of our time, they insisted we vacate at precisely the check-out time.
