Calgary Tower is in Tower Centre at 101 9th Ave. S.W. at Centre St. S. The tower rises 191 metres (626 ft.) above the city. An observation deck and revolving restaurant provide a panorama of the city and the nearby Rocky Mountains. The observation deck features a glass floor and glass walls, which create in visitors the sensation of floating high above the city. A torch atop the tower burned nonstop during the 1988 Olympic Games; it is illuminated on special occasions.
Using multimedia, a self-guiding tour presents the history of Calgary as well as information about some of the landmarks visible from the tower.
