Claresholm & District Museum and Visitor Information Centre is on Hwy. 2 at 5126 1st St. W. Exhibits are housed in a former Canadian Pacific Railway station and highlight the development of the railway and the agricultural history of southern Alberta. The 1912 sandstone building also features early 20th-century artifacts representing local pioneer life. The station includes a visitor center, and on the grounds are a 1903 one-room schoolhouse, a historic log cabin and a CPR caboose. A separate exhibit hall displays exhibits about the aboriginal peoples of southwest Alberta; a Model T school bus and other vehicles; and vignettes depicting town life, including the healthcare system.
