AAA Editor Notes
Ukrainian Canadian Archives & Museum of Alberta (UCAMA) is at 9543 110th Ave. Exhibits focus primarily on the history and material culture of Alberta's Ukrainian pioneers, artists, organizations, politicians and military heroes. Displays include 19th- and 20th-century authentic apparel, folk art, musical instruments, rural pioneer items, church artifacts, Ukrainian currency and re-creations of costumes depicting historical Ukrainian figures of the 9th-17th centuries. UCAMA’s library holds around 40,000 books and journals, hundreds of vinyl records and an immense collection of Ukrainian newspapers. Its archive boasts some 5,000 photographs and documents of various Ukrainian organizations, artists, community leaders and the first Ukrainian-Canadian Member of Parliament (Michael Luchkovich)
