A subdued, intimate atmosphere pervades this restaurant in Strathcona, an old part of town south of the river. You'll feel at home in the lovely dining room flanked by wood beams and a large stone fireplace. The chef prepares excellent cuts of beef and seafood in a variety of ways. A specialty of the house is the great range of oysters flown in almost every single day; choose from raw shucked-to-order, grilled Rockefeller-style or their own creamy version with crab, Asiago and bacon. The Oyster Bar also is very attractive but more casual for those who just want to kick back and slurp a few of those slippery creatures along with a beer or glass of vino from the more than two dozen glass pours on offer.
