Waskasoo Park borders the Red Deer River and runs throughout the city. The park has about 100 kilometres (62 mi.) of both paved and unpaved walking trails. Also within the park are Bower Ponds; the 1911 Victorian Cronquist House Multicultural Centre; Fort Normandeau, with an interpretive center and changing exhibits; Heritage Ranch; Kerry Wood Nature Centre, which houses nature displays; and Gaetz Lake Sanctuary, a wildlife preserve. Recreational activities are permitted. Picnicking is permitted.

Hours: Grounds daily dawn-11 p.m. Nature center daily 10-5. Closed Christmas.
