Riordan Mansion State Historic Park is .5 mi. n. of jct. I-17 and I-40 (off Milton Rd.) at 409 W. Riordan Rd. Built in 1904, the 40-room mansion was home to prominent lumbermen Timothy and Michael Riordan and their families. The rustic exterior incorporates log-slab siding, volcanic stone arches and hand-split wood shingles. The lavish Arts and Crafts-style interior contains handcrafted and Stickley furniture, a Steinway piano, stained-glass windows and personal family items, which can be seen via a 1-hour guided tour. The park's visitor center has exhibits and a children's “touch table.”

Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
