AAA Editor Notes
The Arboretum at Flagstaff, off SR 66 to Woody Mountain Rd., then 4 mi. s., highlights more than 750 species of native plants in natural settings. One of the country's largest collections of mountain wildflowers may be seen; peak wildflower season is July through August. A nature trail traverses meadows and a ponderosa pine forest. Sixteen colorful native butterfly species can be seen in the Butterfly House. A guided garden tour is offered, and a presentation features falcons, hawks and owls native to the Southwest.

Pets are not permitted during special events; phone ahead to confirm.

Guided tours are available. Pet friendly (call for restrictions/fees.). Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
