Phoenix Zoo, off N. Galvin Pkwy. in Papago Park, exhibits more than 1,400 mammals, birds and reptiles. The 125-acre zoo features four trails and is home to Southwestern animals, African lions, Sumatran tigers, Bornean orangutans, Asian elephants, Masai giraffes, Komodo dragons and Andean bears. Encounters, tours and experiences include Monkey Village, Stingray Bay, Giraffe Encounter, 4-D Theater, Discovery Farm and the Safari Train. Feel the Difference, an exhibit for the visually impaired, includes life-size sculptures of such animals as elephants, fish and insects. The displays are labeled in Braille.</br>Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available. </br>
