390th Memorial Museum is at 6000 E. Valencia Rd., at the Pima Air and Space Museum. The museum honors the men of the 390th Bombardment Group (Heavy), many of whom died while flying B-17 bombers in World War II. Exhibits include a fully restored B-17 (also known as the “Flying Fortress”), aircraft models, a one-of-a-kind nose art exhibit, flight gear, guns, photos, a Quonset hut, a World War II control tower and other memorabilia. A 54-minute video presentation includes interviews with surviving members and actual film clips from the war. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
Pima Air and Space Museum single-day admission (includes 390th Memorial Museum) $15.50; $12.75 (ages 65+ and military with ID); $12.25 (Pima County residents); $9 (ages 5-12). Two-day museum admission $20; $16.75 (ages 65+ and military with ID); $16.25 (Pima County residents) $12.50 (ages 5-12). Prices may vary; phone ahead.
