AAA Editor Notes
El Presidio San Agustin del Tucsón is at 196 N. Court Ave. Site of Tucson's original presidio—a frontier fort constructed in 1775 by Spanish soldiers—the current reconstruction was started after archeological excavation was completed in 2006. Visitors will see a rebuilt section of the 20-foot-tall torreon, the presidio's high adobe walls, and a mural showing what the structure once looked like.
