Colossal Cave Mountain Park, off I-10 exit 279, then 7 mi. n. on Colossal Cave Rd. to 16721 E. Old Spanish Trail, is a 2,400-acre park with what is considered by some to be the world's largest dry cavern. Only partially explored, the cave has chambers and lighted passageways. The park also includes a museum, a butterfly garden and a gemstone sluice as well as wagon rides and horse trails. Guided 45-minute cave tours are offered; extended tours are available. Guided trail rides also are available daily. The Arizona National Scenic Trail runs through the park; several access points and two trailheads within the park offer hiking opportunities.
Camping is permitted. Picnicking is permitted.
