Gann Museum of Saline County is at 218 S. Market St. Built in 1893, this structure is said to be the only known building in the world constructed of bauxite, or aluminum ore. Once the medical office of Dr. Dewell Gann Sr., the building was erected by his patients who could not afford to pay their bills. Exhibits also include a collection of Niloak pottery, an aluminum exhibit and artifacts reflecting local pioneer and Native American history. Temporary exhibits also are available. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
